The name is a bit misleading, as this fragrance is more herbal/grassy than “dark.” Nettle is the surprising top note in this unusual blend. The sharpness of the nettles soon opens onto a core of jasmine and lavender that imparts an herbaceous freshness. Jasmine imparts a lasting touch of sweetness that never overpowers the greener notes. The base notes of dry Guaiac wood and suede give Dunhill Black a warm, mellow finish that softly lingers. For spring into fall, this is a great balance of green florals around an intimate, aromatic core.
