Description

Sauvage Cologne by Christian Dior, The 2015 reincarnation of Sauvage is the fresh and spicy spiritual successor to the company’s fragrance that originally launched in 1966. The inspiration for the fragrance is drawn from vast landscapes and wilderness, and its name is French for “wild.” The scent begins with top notes of pepper and Calabrian bergamot followed by a menagerie of heart notes such as patchouli, geranium, vetiver, lavender, pink pepper, Sichuan pepper, and elemi. Its warm and woody base consists of cedar, labdanum, and ambroxan.

Christian Dior launched his first fragrance with Parfums Dior in 1947 after entering the fashion business working for Robert Piguet. With the introduction of his “New Look” at this time, Dior pushed against the conservation of fabrics in the simple but necessary World War Ii style. This radicalized women’s fashion and allowed Paris to regain its reputation as a fashionable place. Although Dior passed away 10 years afterward in 1957, his legacy continues with the luxurious perfume and fashion brands that bear his name
